Why use DivX when XviD is free and features both codecs? VLC plays the rest, so I have everything I need.

Sel, DivX is free, it plays xvid's as well I believe.

I guess we all have our favs. Its probably a Euro thing.

Cause most I know use divX.

With XviD, you can encode aswell, for free. With DivX you get free playback and you have to pay to encode. I just found it alot less hassle to have one package that gives it all. That and I don't like the DivX Player.

I dont encode anything. So it does me okay.

I download, I watch, I share until my ratio is at 10 then I burn to DVD and thats it.

I download at 1,4 MB/s with Bittorrent, I'm a happy bunny. A DVDR at 4 gigs takes less than an hour.

My isp does packet shaping so I'm kinda fucked for torrents now.

DVD takes me about 3-5 days.

In fact, now even when I try and open the ports on my router µTorrent tell me that my ports aren't open anymore.

I am gonna check out usenet, I used that along time ago when I first started my piwating. Not a big fan of the newgroup thingy ut it has to be faster than what I'm currently using.
